I do not do many updates on my About section. Probably should do more, but normally not much changes with me other than getting older. However, this year there has been a major change in my life as I approach my 67th birthday. I lost my wife, my love, my friend, my support on Dec 13, 2021. Forty two years married, 44 years together. And we thought we would have many more to go. And yes, she died 16 months ago. Grief slows things down. And, as I said, I am not good about updating. As for what has changed between the last time I updated this, and Dindy’s death, I did get my Masters in Liberal Arts and am theoretically qualified to teach history at the community college level. In fact, Dindy and I had both thought we would teach part time after she retired, but that has changed for many reasons, even before her death. I am also working again (not teaching), due to changes in various and sundry things over the years. I am in a job I enjoy though, working for people who need help. And with regular hours to boot. Still strongly wanting to retire. My views are still largely that of a progressive liberal, although one with what I like to consider a practical streak. Unlike what my parents predicted when I was in high school and college, my views have gotten more liberal as I grow older. For example, while always supporting abortion rights I one time argued for limitations to this as the fetus develops. Now, no. No limits. It is the woman’s decision during the whole nine months. This blog of mine continues to be my thoughts on various political and social issues going on around me. As well as the occasional philosophical and religious piece. I hope that you enjoy this blog. And, more importantly, enjoy those in your life and do not ever take them for granted.
