TAHLISO is a Students Organisation of all Students in Tanzanian Universities and Non university Higher Learning Institutions. OBJECTIVES 1. To mobilize the students as a force for development. 2. To instils the students a sense of discipline and promote mutual relationship between students and their administrator, and to pursue all the aims and objectives independent of political, religious, tribal, sexual and other personal biases. 3. To promote unity, integrity, love and respect to all students equally. 4. To stimulate and promote all desirable aspects of cultural development of learning and sharing scholastic material. 5. To mobilize students on issues pertain to their welfare human rights and their responsibilities. 6. To promote love and respect for learning, the pursuit of truth, and/or ensure that every student understands his/her responsibility to educate himself/herself to the best of his/her capabilities and to search knowledge for the betterment of human kind and in so doing cherish and promote academic freedom as inalienable right of every youth. FUNCTIONS 1. To strengthen the fight against poverty and diseases especially HIV/AIDS, by organizing and promote youth programs, activities, services and projects as may deem necessary to fulfil the purpose, functions and objectives set forth. 2. To organize debate, seminars, workshop, conferences, congresses, study tours and symposia to enhance intellectual and political awareness of the student community. 3. To publish, broadcast and print through mass media, to establish its own journal, books, newspapers, leaflets, magazine, recordings, or otherwise through any other means of presenting information to the public. 4. To mobilize funding, counselling and sponsoring students’ researches in all academic fields in order to promote creativity and originality on matters of interests to the scholarly community and nation. 5. To undertake such fund raising activities as the students’ organization many deem expedient. 6. To accept donations, contributions, to invest and reinvest any funds on hand, to use the income and proceeds thereof for the advancement of the purposes for which this organization formed.
