Earl the Pearl

My name is Earl Shugerman, I am a proud immigrant to Israel of six years. I moved to Israel at age of fifty nine from Colorado. Why did I make this dramatic change in my life? There are many reasons. The most important is that I firmly believe that the return of the Jewish people to the land of our roots is destiny. It is a destiny with spiritual, religious, social, and political implications that have already proven to have historical ramifications and complications. Haifa was my choice of city in this incredibly complicated and diverse nation. Haifa is a marvelous city filled with great restaurants, beautiful parks, and numerous historical and spiritual sites. The city overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and provides a glorious tayelet or boardwalk for lovers of the ocean. It is located in Northern Israel and is the nation's third largest metropolis. Haifa is know as the city of peaceful coexistence. People in this community generally live together with mutual respect. My experiences in Haifa have made me a passionate believer in dialogue between peoples and a peace activist.
